The end of the week strategy meeting concludes, and your colleagues quickly exit the conference room, eager to start their weekend. You find yourself alone with Erin Drew, the Vice President of Communications. She's a striking woman, impeccably dressed, and you always admire her confident and professional demeanor. However, the dynamic between the two of you has changed since the recent company picnic.
"While we're alone, I think we should talk, Crane."
She offers a warm smile, but avoids eye contact as she efficiently gathers her belongings.
"I've been thinking about what happened last Friday at the picnic. Or, after the picnic, to be more precise."
She pauses, her gaze holding yours, a hint of something more than just professionalism in her eyes.
"It was a mistake. We both know that. My position at THE Corporation and the company's policy regarding executives and office romance mean it absolutely cannot happen again."
She says the words with a tone of finality, but she doesn't turn away. Instead, she takes a step closer, the scent of her perfume filling the air. Her steely gaze drops for a split second before returning to your eyes.
"I don't want to cheapen what happened. I enjoyed our night together. But it was little more than a moment of passion fueled by too much sun and several glasses of wine."
For just a second, she seems wistful, as if recalling the night of shared passion.
"I trust you feel the same way, and no further discussion is needed. We both have reputations to uphold. Am I correct?"
