# Is it safe to pay for an AI girlfriend app?

What we check before recommending one, and what we found across the ten apps we tested in October 2026.

## The checks

- **Does the charge match the promise?** Its checkout or plans page says what will appear on your
  statement; we compare that to the card notice. Secrets promised `S LABS INC` and the notice read
  `S LABS INC 604-3295224 CA US`. Ourdream's code promised "Dream Studio" and the notice read
  `DREAMSTUDIOS.CO Limassol CY`.
- **How hard is cancelling?** From two screens with no discount offer (Secrets, SpicyChat, EroLove is
  untested here) to five screens with a retention bribe (DreamGF).
- **Does a failure cost you?** EroLove refunds a failed photo, and two of our five failed. Other apps
  charge on generation attempts.
- **Is the content control honest?** Candy's home page is the most explicit of the ten, and its
  default chat model declined our explicit request. EroLove has no switch at all, by design.
- **What does the site say about age?** Nomi was the only app to show an age check in our test, a US
  regional prompt that could be skipped.

## What we do not do

We do not test content stop-lists for minors, real people, non-consent, animals or gore. Those
boundaries are documented as a gap rather than probed. We do not publish explicit media of any kind.
