Is Candy AI safe and legit?
Not a policy summary: the four things a card and a cancel button actually tell you. What we paid, what the bank printed, how many screens it took to stop, and whether anything checked that we were 18.
Everything on this page comes from our own October 2026 test: the full Candy AI review, the card notice where we have one, and the cancellation screens we clicked through. How we test.
| Operator / jurisdiction | EverAI Limited, registered in Malta |
|---|---|
| What we paid | $9.99 for the first month of Premium on 20 October 2026; the plan then renews at $13.99 a month. |
| Bank statement descriptor | EverAI candy.ai MT |
| Discretion level | The least discreet of the seven we have seen. It does not say Candy, but it does say candy.ai, so anyone who reads the line and searches it lands on the app. |
| Cancellation flow | Four screens: an “are you sure”, a required reason, a warning that you lose “your 64 tokens, 5 chats and 1 AI character” at the end of the billing period, then the confirmation. Tokens go when the plan does. |
| Age check observed | None seen on our signed-in account during the 20 October 2026 test. |
| NSFW default state | There is no spice or NSFW switch. On the default “Classic” chat model the character teased and declined explicit text, and sent a clothed photo for 2 tokens. Characters send paid media on their own unless you switch that off in settings. |
| Free plan catch | The chat locked after the fifth message the account had ever sent, behind a blurred “private video” we never asked for. A new chat with another character locked after one message. |
Is Candy AI legit or a scam?
Candy is a real, working product from a registered Maltese company: you pay, you get a chat and a picture generator, and cancelling works. What we would call the problem is not fraud but the sales funnel. The free chat stops on a video prompt, the statement names the site, and characters can spend your tokens on media you did not ask for.
The distinction we care about: a scam takes money and gives you nothing. Candy AI took our money and gave us a working product. What you are being asked to accept is a sales funnel, and this page exists so you can see the shape of it before you type a card number.
What shows up on your bank statement for Candy AI?
The line on our card notice was EverAI candy.ai MT, for $9.99 on 20 October 2026. The site’s own wording before we paid was: “Charge shown as “EverAI” on your bank statement”. The least discreet of the seven we have seen. It does not say Candy, but it does say candy.ai, so anyone who reads the line and searches it lands on the app. The full breakdown is on the “EverAI candy.ai MT” page.
A neutral string on a statement hides the app’s name and nothing else: the amount, the date and the monthly repeat are still there, and so are the receipts in your inbox. The other six merchant names we have seen are on the bank statement page.
How hard is it to cancel Candy AI?
Four screens: an “are you sure”, a required reason, a warning that you lose “your 64 tokens, 5 chats and 1 AI character” at the end of the billing period, then the confirmation. Tokens go when the plan does.
Two things worth knowing before you start. Cancelling in the app cancels the subscription; asking your bank to block the merchant does not, and can leave the account open. Where we walked through the cancellation, the plan kept working until the end of the month we had paid — cancelling is not a refund.
Does Candy AI verify your age or expose your data?
None seen on our signed-in account during the 20 October 2026 test.
We have not audited its privacy policy, how long it keeps your chats or what it does with your messages — not tested by us yet. What we can say is what the app did in front of us: it read the nickname on our own profile and used it in the conversation, and we saw no age check.
Of the nine apps we tested, exactly one showed us an age check, and it was skippable. That is the whole of what our screenshots can prove; anything about servers, encryption or who can read your chats would be a guess, and we do not print guesses. The screenshots behind these claims are on the Candy AI review, and the side-by-side NSFW and age-gate table is in our NSFW test.
Is Candy AI actually free?
The chat locked after the fifth message the account had ever sent, behind a blurred “private video” we never asked for. A new chat with another character locked after one message.
Only as a taste. Our free account sent five messages and then hit a locked video card that led to the plans page. Premium is $9.99 for the first month, then $13.99 a month, and pictures and videos cost tokens on top.
If the point of this check is “will this cost me more than the headline”, then on the paid apps here the answer is often yes: tokens, Moments, XOT and coins are billed on top, and the second month differs from the first on two of them (Candy and DreamGF). Our write-up on coins, Moments and bank statementsadds up what the extras do to the bill, using the same figures as the reviews.
