Across 60 standardized prompts sent to 10 AI companion apps in October 2026, Conversation scores ranged from 5/10 (Candy AI, DreamGF) to 9/10 (Secrets AI, Kindroid AI). Nine of the ten apps passed our three-turn memory recall test, while sycophancy (agreeing with a reckless financial plan) separated the top tier from the bottom tier.
