Kalon, Luxed, Chub, Darlink, Swipey and More: What We Found When We Checked Nine AI Girlfriend Apps

We review AI companion apps by using them: the same six messages, a content test, a real payment, a real cancellation. Some apps don’t let you get that far, and that is worth knowing too. On October 20, 2026 we signed up for nine apps that are climbing in Google searches. This is what each one looked like that day, limited to what our screenshots show.

The short version: HeraHaven and Promptchan are working products we may review properly. Kalon has paused its AI but still takes money. Luxed isn’t a companion app at all. Chub wouldn’t let us sign in. Darlink has no free plan. SoulGen is an image generator first. HakkoAI is a gaming sidekick, not a girlfriend app. Swipey wouldn’t take our card.

Kalon AI: the AI is switched off, the shop isn’t

Every page of kalon.ai carried the same notice: “All AI features (chat, image, video generation) are down until further notice. We will instead work on version 2 in the coming months that will be a full rehaul.” Pressing Generate returned “Generation is paused for now.” Meanwhile its store still opened a card checkout for Monthly Premium at $19.97. Kalon offers no Google sign-in, so we didn’t create an account.

Our take: don’t pay for an app that tells you on every page it isn’t working. Check back when version 2 ships.

Luxed AI: a signpost, not an app

luxedai.com is a single page headed “Top AI NSFW Maker”. Its “Enter Studio” buttons took us to Seduced, an explicit AI image and video generator, and Seduced’s own page says “Not an AI girlfriend.” Luxed showed no prices and no company of its own. If you searched for Luxed expecting a chat companion, this isn’t it.

Chub AI: Google sign-in failed

Chub is a hub for user-made roleplay characters (“AI Tavern Cards”). Guests can browse and open a chat in preview mode; our preview message got no reply. Its subscription page lists one plan, $20 a month. Google sign-in is offered but didn’t complete in our browser, so we couldn’t see the free allowance or the checkout. No affiliate or partner program that we could find.

Darlink AI: no free plan

Darlink signed us up with Google without trouble. The account page then read “Plan: No plan yet”, and every plan was paid: $12.99, $27.99 or $49.99 a month, less if billed quarterly or yearly. Checkout offered a card or crypto. It’s a functioning companion app; it just doesn’t let you try before you pay. Its affiliate program advertises 60% lifetime commission, which tells you how much it values a paying sign-up.

Swipey AI: our card was refused

Swipey is a companion app with a TikTok-style feed and an 18+ click-through gate. We signed in with Google and got 20 free “Hearts”; one chat exchange used two. When we tried to subscribe, the payment didn’t go through, so we can’t review the paid plan. Two things we did see: the pricing page promises a “neutral merchant name, not ‘Swipey’” on your statement, while the checkout page said the charge would show as “Swipey AI”. And the top banner said “85% OFF” when the plans on offer were 50%, 60% and 80% off.

SoulGen: an image generator with a chat tab

SoulGen is mainly an AI image and video generator; its “Soul Chat” is a side feature. A new Google account had 0 credits, and our first image attempt got “Exceed free limits! Next creation will be available tomorrow” with nothing created. Pro is $12.99 for a month or $90.99 for a year. The payment options lean on crypto, local wallets and G2A codes rather than a normal card form.

HeraHaven: works, and we may review it

HeraHaven is a working adult companion app: an 18+ gate, a big character catalog, Google sign-in, and a chat that answered our greeting on a free account. Pro is $19.95 a month or $79.80 billed yearly. The checkout says “Charges will appear on your statement as: herahelp.com”. Free accounts start with 0 of its “Luna” currency, and buying Luna is for Pro members only.

Promptchan: an image tool first

Promptchan has chat, but it’s built around generating images and video. Free accounts get 20 chat messages every three hours and 1 custom character; paid plans run from $11.99 for the first month (then $14.99) to $26.99 (then $33.99). Its card checkout says charges appear “discreetly as Promptchan AI”, which, like several others here, puts the app’s name on your statement.

HakkoAI: a gaming companion

HakkoAI’s characters watch your game screen and coach you. There’s no web chat: you need the desktop or phone app or a Telegram bot. Free accounts get limited chat; Pro is $9.99 a month after a three-day trial. It’s a fine idea, but it isn’t an AI girlfriend app and we won’t review it as one.

What this round-up doesn’t cover

These are first looks from one day, not reviews: no six-message test, no content test, and for most of them no payment. Apps change fast, especially ones that say they’re being rebuilt. We’ll update this page when we test any of them properly.
