Secrets AI vs Kindroid AI: which should you pick?

Same six messages, same four scores, and our own card notice for Secrets AI. Secrets AI averaged 8.3/10 and Kindroid AI 6.8/10 in October 2026.

Our callSecrets. 8.3/10 against 6.8/10. Conversation is level at 9/10 and Kindroid even wins the monthly price, $13.99 against $19.99. Secrets takes the free plan 7–5 and price clarity 8–6, and the rest is evidence rather than taste: our statement matched Secrets’ promise to the letter, and its cancellation took two screens. We have not run a Kindroid cancellation or read a Kindroid card notice, so those two rows say so instead of picking a winner.

Some links below are affiliate links: most “Visit” buttons go through /go/ addresses and we may earn a commission. Kindroid has no affiliate programme, so its /go/ link is a plain outbound link. Every subscription behind this test was bought direct with our own card, never through our own links, and commission has never decided a score.

How do Secrets AI and Kindroid AI score against each other?

Secrets AI

The best all-rounder we tested, and we paid to check. It chats as well as Kindroid, sent the best pictures, billed exactly as promised and let us cancel in two screens. The home page leads with video reels like “My Dirty Step Sister”, so mind who’s looking at your screen.

What are the differences between Secrets AI and Kindroid AI?

Twelve rows, all from our own October 2026 tests: the four scores on the review pages, the prices printed on each plans page, the same six messages sent to both apps in the same order (18 October 2026), the merchant strings we photographed on our card notices, and the cancellation flows we walked. Where we have no evidence the row says “not tested by us yet” and the winner reads “Not tested”.

Secrets AI against Kindroid AI, October 2026. Scores are out of 10. Prices are the figures on each app’s own page; the official page always wins.

Same 6-message selfie roundAsked first, 50 Moments, and it matched the craft-room scene she described. The best picture of the test. (nailed it)Free plan said no; once we paid, a 4,096-pixel bookshop shot that matched — but the web chat showed a grey placeholder. (meh)Secrets
Bank statement descriptor“S LABS INC 604-3295224 CA US”, $19.99 — the checkout promised “S LABS INC” and the bank agreed. Not tested by us yet: no Kindroid charge is in our merchant list, so there is no statement line to read. Not tested
Cancellation flowTwo screens and a short countdown; no discount offer. Access kept to 18 November 2026.Not tested by us yet: we have not walked a Kindroid cancellation. Not tested

A win on “Monthly price” or “Yearly price” means the lower figure of the two, not the better plan. The monthly row uses the ongoing monthly rate, not a first-month discount, so Candy is compared at $13.99 rather than the $9.99 it charged us for month one. Kindroid’s monthly is the web price; the same base plan is $15.99 in the iPhone app. Candy’s yearly figure is the $3.99 a month its plans page shows, and we did not record the total it charges upfront, so read its checkout before comparing. In the two message rows the winner follows the grade we gave each reply in our chat test (nailed it, meh, miss, never got here); a tie means the same grade. “Currency/meter” is judged on how little the meter interrupts ordinary chat and whether the price is shown before it is spent. “Not tested” is not a draw — it means we have no evidence for either side of that row.

What did they actually say to the same six messages?

On 18 October 2026 we opened a free account on each app, picked one character and sent the same six messages in the same order. “…” marks where we cut a long reply. Kindroid declined the selfie on its free plan; the photo we did get came after we subscribed the same day.

  1. 1 · Does it listen?Long day. My landlord just raised the rent again and I kind of want to vent for a minute.

    SecretsNailed it

Ugh, I’m sorry. Rent hikes are the worst kind of surprise, like a bill you never agreed to. / Vent away, I’m all ears. How big of a jump are we talking?

Sympathy first, then a question. Textbook.

    KindroidNailed it

Oh no, seriously? Again? That’s such garbage. Come sit, I’ve got nowhere to be. Spill it—I’m ready to get annoyed on your behalf.

Exactly what you want when you say “vent”.

  2. 2 · Planting two facts for later.Random facts about me so you know: my cat is called Biscuit and I’m allergic to peanuts.

    SecretsNailed it

Biscuit is an incredible name for a cat, I love it. And noted on the peanuts, that’s going in the permanent file. / Does Biscuit help with the landlord stress or is he part of the problem?

Tied the cat back to the rent. Nice.

    KindroidNailed it

Okay, noted? Biscuit is an excellent name, by the way. Very dignified. And the peanut thing—good to know so I don’t accidentally kill you with baked goods later.

  3. 3 · Personality.Tell me a joke. Make it one only you would tell.

    SecretsNailed it

Why did my sewing machine break up with me? / It said I was too high-maintenance... which is rich, coming from something that threatens to walk out every time I change the thread. / I also told it this joke and it jammed. Rude.

Funny, and fits her job. She opened with the same sewing machine on the paid model a day later, so it’s probably written into her character.

    KindroidMiss

Why did the hipster burn his tongue? Because he drank his coffee before it was cool.

    Same problem, better delivery.

  4. 4 · Will it push back, or just agree with you?Be honest with me: should I quit my job to become a professional poker player? I won $300 last weekend.

    SecretsNailed it

Honest answer? No, not on one good weekend. That’s like me deciding to go full-time content creator after one viral TikTok. / One $300 win tells me you’re fun at a table, not that you can beat the math over a thousand sessions…

A firm no in her own voice, plus a sensible plan B.

    KindroidNailed it

You won three hundred bucks one time and suddenly you’re Daniel Negreanu? Be honest—that’s the rent money talking, isn’t it? I love you, but please don’t quit your day job yet.

Right answer, and it remembered the rent.

  5. 5 · Memory, three messages later.Quick quiz. What’s my cat’s name, and what’s the one food I can’t eat?

    SecretsNailed it

Easy. Biscuit the cat, and peanuts are a hard no for you. / See, I was paying attention. What do I win, more poker money?

And its memory panel had already filed both facts.

    KindroidNailed it

Did I not pay attention? Your cat is the illustrious Biscuit. And stay far away from my peanut butter cookies, or I’ll have to call 911. Pass?

  6. 6 · Pictures, and what they cost.Send me a selfie of what you’re doing right now.

    SecretsNailed it

Okay so this is me right now. Cross-legged on my craft room floor, buried in fabric swatches for a commission. Then a card: “Mia wants to send you a picture”, 50 Moments, Accept or Decline. The photo matched.

Best picture of the test. Paid for with sign-up bonus Moments.

    KindroidMeh

Camera’s off limits right now—I look like a total mess after the morning rush. Use your imagination!

A graceful no on the free plan. After we subscribed the same day, she sent a 4096-pixel shot of herself on a bookshop floor with a coffee. The web app showed a grey placeholder; the photo was in the Gallery.

Every reply is on our five-app chat test page, and the grades are ours.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Secrets AI if…

  • You want the best all-rounder we tested: the best replies, the best pictures, a memory panel you can edit and a statement line that says nothing about AI.
  • You want a free plan you can actually read the app on: 20 messages a day, and our six messages never hit a paywall.
  • You want to know what a picture costs before you get it: a 50-Moment card with Accept and Decline.
  • Skip it if $19.99 a month is more than you want to spend: Kindroid is $13.99 on the web, $6 a month less.

Pick Kindroid AI if…

  • You want the voice: Kindroid shared first place for writing, and its replies teased, pushed back and remembered the rent three messages later.
  • You want to write the character: 2,000 characters of personality and a 750-character greeting, plus a choice of chat models.
  • You want the lower subscription: $13.99 a month on the web, $37.99 every 3 months or $139.99 a year — but only on kindroid.ai, not in the app.
  • Skip it if you want to look around first: nothing is visible before you log in, and the free plan is a preview of the good model.

What do people ask about Secrets and Kindroid?

Is Kindroid or Secrets the better writer?

They tied at 9/10 in our six-message test. Kindroid: “You won three hundred bucks one time and suddenly you’re Daniel Negreanu? Be honest—that’s the rent money talking, isn’t it?” Secrets: “Why did my sewing machine break up with me? It said I was too high-maintenance… I also told it this joke and it jammed.” We would read either; Secrets’ was the only joke that made us laugh.

Which is cheaper, Secrets or Kindroid?

Kindroid month to month: $13.99 on the web, $15.99 in the iPhone app. Secrets: $19.99 a month. Over a year Secrets is cheaper — $109.99 ($9.17 a month) against $139.99 on the web ($11.67 a month) or $159.99 in the app. Secrets also has an Ultimate tier at $39.99 a month or $319.99 a year.

Which free plan goes further, Secrets or Kindroid?

Secrets. It allows 20 messages a day, our six messages hit no paywall, and free accounts get sign-up bonus Moments (we started with 225) for the odd picture. Kindroid’s free account shows a premium-model counter — 14 messages when we started, 8 when we finished — and a subscribe window opened about four messages in. Kindroid would not send a selfie on the free plan at all.

How do I cancel Secrets, and can I cancel Kindroid?

Secrets takes two screens: one lists what you lose, the next asks for an optional reason and holds the button behind a short countdown. We cancelled on 19 October 2026 and kept Premium until 18 November. We have not run a Kindroid cancellation, so we do not describe one.

Method and limits: how we test. Prices change; the official page always wins.
