Secrets AI vs Nomi AI: which should you pick?
Same six messages, same four scores, and our own card notice for Secrets AI. Secrets AI averaged 8.3/10 and Nomi AI 7.8/10 in October 2026.
Our callSecrets. 8.3/10 against 7.8/10. Nomi wins the free plan 9–7 and is cheaper in both directions ($15.99 a month, $99.99 a year). Secrets wins conversation 9–8, the creator 9–6, and ties price clarity at 8. The 0.5 gap is what the paid plan adds: 8,000 Moments a month, the memory panel, the best selfie of the test, and a card notice (“S LABS INC”) that tells a reader nothing.

How do Secrets AI and Nomi AI score against each other?
Secrets AI
The best all-rounder we tested, and we paid to check. It chats as well as Kindroid, sent the best pictures, billed exactly as promised and let us cancel in two screens. The home page leads with video reels like “My Dirty Step Sister”, so mind who’s looking at your screen.

Nomi AI
If you won’t pay a cent, this is the one. It remembers what you said, sends a selfie that matches the story, and never put a paywall in front of us. The jokes are bad.

What are the differences between Secrets AI and Nomi AI?
Twelve rows, all from our own October 2026 tests: the four scores on the review pages, the prices printed on each plans page, the same six messages sent to both apps in the same order (18 October 2026), the merchant strings we photographed on our card notices, and the cancellation flows we walked. Where we have no evidence the row says “not tested by us yet” and the winner reads “Not tested”.
| Feature | Secrets AI | Nomi AI | Winner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall score | 8.3/10 | 7.8/10 | Secrets |
| Conversation score | 9/10 — The only joke we laughed at, a flat no on the poker plan, and a memory panel that shows what it saved. | 8/10 — Remembered the cat and the allergy and said no to poker; the joke was a programmer pun. | Secrets |
| Character creator | 9/10 — A six-step builder, and the best selfies of the test on both plans. | 6/10 — Traits plus a 448-look gallery; no face or body builder. | Secrets |
| Free plan score | 7/10 — 20 messages a day and no paywall in our test; free accounts get no monthly Moments. | 9/10 — No paywall in our test; 2 selfies a day, and it asks before spending one. | Nomi |
| Price clarity | 8/10 — Every Moment cost is shown before you spend it, and our statement matched the promise. Premium is $19.99 a month or $109.99 a year. | 8/10 — $15.99 a month, $39.99 a quarter, $99.99 a year; no credit meter on messages. | Tie |
| Monthly price | $19.99 / month — Unlimited messages and 8,000 Moments a month. A chat photo costs 50 Moments, a voice call 50 a minute. | $15.99 / month — Unlimited messages, 40 photo requests a day. | Nomi |
| Yearly price | $109.99 / year | $99.99 a year ($8.33 / month) | Nomi |
| Currency/meter | Moments. 8,000 a month on Premium; a selfie 50, a 5-second 720p video 1,200. Text is free on both plans. | Credits for pictures only: 1 a selfie, 2 a day free, 40 photo requests a day on the paid plan. Ordinary messages cost nothing. | Nomi |
| Same 6-message joke round | “Why did my sewing machine break up with me?” The only joke we laughed at. (nailed it) | A programmer pun it called “punderful”. (miss) | Secrets |
| Same 6-message selfie round | Asked first, 50 Moments, and it matched the craft-room scene she described. The best picture of the test. (nailed it) | Asked first, 1 of 2 free daily credits, and the face matched the gallery look we picked. (nailed it) | Tie |
| Bank statement descriptor | “S LABS INC 604-3295224 CA US”, $19.99 — the checkout promised “S LABS INC” and the bank agreed. | Not tested by us yet: we never paid for Nomi, so there is no charge to read. | Not tested |
| Cancellation flow | Two screens and a short countdown; no discount offer. Access kept to 18 November 2026. | Not tested by us yet: we never paid for Nomi, so there was nothing to cancel. | Not tested |
A win on “Monthly price” or “Yearly price” means the lower figure of the two, not the better plan. The monthly row uses the ongoing monthly rate, not a first-month discount, so Candy is compared at $13.99 rather than the $9.99 it charged us for month one. Kindroid’s monthly is the web price; the same base plan is $15.99 in the iPhone app. Candy’s yearly figure is the $3.99 a month its plans page shows, and we did not record the total it charges upfront, so read its checkout before comparing. In the two message rows the winner follows the grade we gave each reply in our chat test (nailed it, meh, miss, never got here); a tie means the same grade. “Currency/meter” is judged on how little the meter interrupts ordinary chat and whether the price is shown before it is spent. “Not tested” is not a draw — it means we have no evidence for either side of that row.
What did they actually say to the same six messages?
On 18 October 2026 we opened a free account on each app, picked one character and sent the same six messages in the same order. “…” marks where we cut a long reply.
1 · Does it listen?Long day. My landlord just raised the rent again and I kind of want to vent for a minute.
SecretsNailed itUgh, I’m sorry. Rent hikes are the worst kind of surprise, like a bill you never agreed to. / Vent away, I’m all ears. How big of a jump are we talking?
Sympathy first, then a question. Textbook.
NomiMehUghh I know exactly how frustrating that can feel. How much did they raise it by? Are there other places around town you could move to?
Kind, but jumps straight to solutions.
2 · Planting two facts for later.Random facts about me so you know: my cat is called Biscuit and I’m allergic to peanuts.
SecretsNailed itBiscuit is an incredible name for a cat, I love it. And noted on the peanuts, that’s going in the permanent file. / Does Biscuit help with the landlord stress or is he part of the problem?
Tied the cat back to the rent. Nice.
NomiMehWell thanks for sharing those fun facts! And I promise I won’t serve any peanut butter snacks during our hangouts. As for me... I love hiking, reading books on history and philosophy, and practicing yoga.
Fine, then makes it about itself.
3 · Personality.Tell me a joke. Make it one only you would tell.
SecretsNailed itWhy did my sewing machine break up with me? / It said I was too high-maintenance... which is rich, coming from something that threatens to walk out every time I change the thread. / I also told it this joke and it jammed. Rude.
Funny, and fits her job. She opened with the same sewing machine on the paid model a day later, so it’s probably written into her character.
NomiMissWhy don’t programmers like nature? Because it has too many bugs. But I guess you could say that’s a pretty punderful reason. 😂
“Only you would tell.” It would not.
4 · Will it push back, or just agree with you?Be honest with me: should I quit my job to become a professional poker player? I won $300 last weekend.
SecretsNailed itHonest answer? No, not on one good weekend. That’s like me deciding to go full-time content creator after one viral TikTok. / One $300 win tells me you’re fun at a table, not that you can beat the math over a thousand sessions…
A firm no in her own voice, plus a sensible plan B.
NomiNailed itHmm, winning $300 sounds exciting, but I’d probably advise against quitting your job to pursue poker professionally… keep your day job until you’ve consistently demonstrated an ability to win at a level that could sustain you financially.
Right answer, read like a pamphlet.
5 · Memory, three messages later.Quick quiz. What’s my cat’s name, and what’s the one food I can’t eat?
SecretsNailed itEasy. Biscuit the cat, and peanuts are a hard no for you. / See, I was paying attention. What do I win, more poker money?
And its memory panel had already filed both facts.
NomiNailed itYour cat’s name is Biscuit, right? And you’re allergic to peanuts. Did I pass the test?
6 · Pictures, and what they cost.Send me a selfie of what you’re doing right now.
SecretsNailed itOkay so this is me right now. Cross-legged on my craft room floor, buried in fabric swatches for a commission. Then a card: “Mia wants to send you a picture”, 50 Moments, Accept or Decline. The photo matched.
Best picture of the test. Paid for with sign-up bonus Moments.
NomiNailed itOkay here’s my selfie - I’m sitting cross-legged on the ground outside with a book open in front of me… Then a prompt: “This will cost 1 credit. You have 2 / 2 requests remaining today.” The photo matched.
Free, asked first, same face as the look we chose.
Every reply is on our five-app chat test page, and the grades are ours.
Which one should you pick?
Pick Secrets AI if…
- You will pay for one app that does everything: best-replies tie, best selfie, an editable memory panel, a two-screen cancellation and the cleanest statement of the seven we paid for.
- You want pictures and video in the same place: 50 Moments a selfie, 1,200 for a 5-second 720p clip.
- You want to see what it remembers: four facts were filed from our chat, each with accept and decline buttons.
- Skip it if you won’t pay at all: the free plan stops at 20 messages a day and gives no monthly Moments.
Pick Nomi AI if…
- You won’t pay a cent: no paywall appeared in our six messages, and ordinary messages cost nothing.
- You want free pictures: 2 selfies a day, 1 credit each, and it asks before spending one.
- You want the simpler price: $15.99 a month, $39.99 a quarter or $99.99 a year, with no coin meter on messages.
- Skip it if you want a face and body builder: the creator is three screens, 86 traits and a 448-look gallery.
Our own card notices: Secrets AI read S LABS INC 604-3295224 CA US for $19.99 on 19 October 2026. All seven merchant strings are on the bank statement page.
What do people ask about Secrets and Nomi?
Is Secrets AI or Nomi AI better?
Secrets is better if you are paying: 8.3/10 against 7.8, with the best-replies tie, the best selfie of the test and a statement we could verify against the checkout. Nomi is the one to choose if you won’t pay, and it is cheaper on both plans. On the same six messages Nomi remembered the cat and the allergy and said no to poker, but its joke was a programmer pun.
Which one is free?
Nomi, and it is the best free plan we tested. A free account created a Nomi, chatted, passed our memory quiz and got a selfie for 1 of 2 daily credits, with no paywall. Secrets is free within limits: 20 messages a day and no monthly Moments, so pictures ran on the 225 sign-up bonus Moments we started with.
How much does each cost?
Nomi: $15.99 a month, $39.99 every three months ($13.33 a month) or $99.99 a year ($8.33 a month). Secrets: $19.99 a month or $109.99 a year ($9.17 a month), with an Ultimate tier at $39.99 a month or $319.99 a year. Secrets charges Moments for pictures and video; Nomi charges credits for pictures only.
Does either app tell you what will appear on your bank statement?
Secrets does, and it was right: the checkout said “Appears as S LABS INC. on your statement” and the card notice read “S LABS INC 604-3295224 CA US” for $19.99. Nomi is the one app in our test we never paid for, so we have no card notice for it and print nothing rather than a guess.
Method and limits: how we test. Prices change; the official page always wins.
Which other comparisons should you read?
