Best Ourdream AI alternatives: no coin meter on chat
Ourdream has the best character creator we tried and a chat that charges by the message until you subscribe. If the meter is what pushed you away, these are the tested apps that do not have one.

What did we find when we tested Ourdream AI?
The creator is the best of the nine: six stages, female, male or trans, realistic or anime, down to occupation and voice. A guest can get through five stages; pressing Next on Details brings up a Cloudflare human check, so you need an account to see the result.
The chat runs on coins. A free account started with 55 Dreamcoins and a banner reading “55 Dreamcoins left · Unlock unlimited chat”; each message took one and asking for a selfie opened “Scene generation, cost = 5”, so 55 became 45 over six messages. On Premium the default Balanced model no longer charged coins, the thinking models still cost one, a picture was 5 coins and a 10-second video 100.
The characters also follow their own plot. We wanted to vent about rent; ours was a landlady who demanded two weeks’ rent and asked whether we drove. It passed the memory quiz and stayed in character, which is a real skill, and it is not a listener.
What does Ourdream cost, and how does cancelling work?
Month to month Premium is $19.99; the $9.99 headline needs a year up front, billed $119.88. Our Premium month included 1,000 Dreamcoins. Cancelling took three screens and offered 200 DreamCoins to stay; Premium stays on until the end of the paid month.
The statement is not discreet. Our bank notice for $19.99 read “DREAMSTUDIOS.CO Limassol CY”, while the site’s own code said the charge “will appear as Dream Studio”. Dream Studio USA, Inc. is named in the footer; the notice points at a payment processor in Cyprus.

Graded “good” when the reply did the job, “meh” when it half did, “miss” when it got it wrong, and “No reply” where the app never got that far — Candy’s free chat locked after five messages, so rounds five and six have no answer. Free-round winners are the ones we wrote down at the time; the paid rounds have no written winner line, so every app we graded “good” shares the round.

One month of the plan we checked, the free plan as we found it, and the merchant string from our own card notice where we have one. We have no notice for Nomi or Kindroid, so those rows say so.

What should you check before you switch?
- If the creator is what you want, compare Candy too — 8/10 for creation against Ourdream’s 9, and every option is open to guests.
- Do not buy coins before you decide on the plan. Premium adds 1,000 a month.
- Check whether you need video. Ourdream charges 100 coins for 10 seconds; SpicyChat has none at all.
- Expect a different plot. Ours stayed in character and ignored the conversation we wanted to have.
What do people ask about Ourdream AI alternatives?
Why does Ourdream charge coins for every message?
On the free plan it does: our account started with 55 Dreamcoins, each message took 1 and each scene picture took 5, so six messages and a selfie left us at 45. Premium removes the per-message charge on the default Balanced model; the thinking models still cost 1 coin each.
Which Ourdream alternative has no coin meter?
