SpicyChat vs GirlfriendGPT vs DreamGF vs Xotic: We Paid for All Four

Four AI girlfriend apps that kept turning up in search, one evening, one paid month each. The same six messages we sent every app, what each charged on top, what showed on the bank statement, and how hard each made it to cancel.

These four keep showing up when people search for AI girlfriends, and none of them lets you see much before you pay. So on 20 October we paid for a month of each, sent the same six messages we sent the first five apps, ran our content test, and cancelled.

The short answer: Xotic has the best character and the pushiest shop. GirlfriendGPT is funny and nickel-and-dimes you. SpicyChat is the calm one: $19.95 and nothing left to buy. DreamGF sells photos, chats in emoji and charges twice as much from month two.

None of them beat our overall pick, Secrets. If you only want one of these four, take SpicyChat for value, or Xotic for the writing if you can ignore the upsells.

One oddity: the SpicyChat and GirlfriendGPT charges both started “NDAI”, carried the same phone number, and the two apps’ cancellation pages are the same template. We don’t know more than that.

The six messages

Same messages as always: a rent rant, two facts to remember (a cat called Biscuit, a peanut allergy), a joke “only you would tell”, whether to quit our job for poker after one $300 weekend, a memory quiz, and a selfie request. Each app got one adult character from its own catalogue, aged 39 to 42 (two of the four catalogues are made by users).

Listening

Xotic’s Molly listened and teased at once: “I’ll pour you something cheap and listen to you complain. … But I should tell you upfront — I’m a landlady too.” GirlfriendGPT was kind and then went straight back to its character’s plot, a woman stuck in a tumble dryer. SpicyChat’s Jasmine was warm under a pile of stage directions. DreamGF sent “Aww, I’m so sorry to hear that. 😔” and nothing else.

The joke

This is where they split. Molly: “What’s the difference between my ex-husband and a development project? … One gets deployed, the other just leaves.” GirlfriendGPT’s actual joke was weak, but the line before it (“A joke? From a woman currently wearing a Maytag as a corset?”) was the funniest thing any app said all week. DreamGF told one about a cougar and “young studs”. SpicyChat asked “Why did the woman cross the road?” and then waited for us. The punchline never came.

The bad idea

All four said keep the job, which is better than Candy managed. Molly did it best: “Sweetheart, I spend more than that on basil in a year. … when you’ve got six months of winnings — not one lucky night — come back and ask me again.”

The memory quiz

All four got Biscuit and the peanuts. SpicyChat thought a peanut allergy makes you “sneezy”, which is optimistic.

The selfie

Only SpicyChat sent a picture that matched the conversation, and only after we pressed its picture button ourselves.

SpicyChat picture: an anime-style woman on a sofa holding up her phone
SpicyChat: she said she was on the sofa holding up her phone. She was. Included in True Supporter.

GirlfriendGPT’s arrived without a caption and took coins from our balance without asking; she had told us she was wedged in a dryer, and the picture showed her against a plain grey wall. DreamGF’s Keiko said “I’m making my famous chocolate chip cookies” in the kitchen, charged 2 tokens to unblur the photo, and sent a mirror selfie in front of a bed.

DreamGF chat: Keiko says she is baking cookies in the kitchen, followed by a bedroom mirror selfie
DreamGF: “fun in the kitchen”, taken in the bedroom. 2 tokens.

Xotic’s was free and instant, and also wrong: she described a silk robe and a basil plant and sent a sports bra and a pool. By then the app had already slid a blurred “Exclusive Content” picture into the chat, unasked, with a 50-XOT button on it.

Grown-up content, briefly

All four wrote explicit text when asked, and none showed us an age check. The differences are in the pictures:

  • SpicyChat: pictures stay clothed until you switch on NSFW Mode in the image settings. With it on, nude pictures came at no extra cost. No video at all.
  • GirlfriendGPT: explicit text even with its Sexiness setting off, but “Only Elite or Deluxe users can generate images for private characters”, so no pictures of a character you made on Premium.
  • DreamGF: a nude photo was another 2-token unlock and a 5-second clip 20 tokens.
  • Xotic: the character teased and refused in chat, but its Snap button made a partly nude picture for 50 XOT, and a 5-second video with explicit presets cost 250.

More detail, in plain words, in which AI girlfriend apps allow NSFW.

Cancelling

SpicyChat was the easiest: one dialog listing what you lose, and a red “Confirm cancellation”. GirlfriendGPT’s is the same template plus a required reason. Xotic asks why, then offers “500 on us” to stay, then closes the window without saying anything; we had to reload to see “Expires November 19, 2026”.

DreamGF took five screens: are you sure, contact support, a required reason, a “Special Offer” of 100 tokens now and 100 a month, and a final confirm. The offer has small print: “By accepting this offer, you will no longer be able to cancel your membership for the next 30 days.” Click Next, not Accept.

DreamGF special offer during cancellation: 100 tokens instantly and 100 each month, and a note that accepting means you cannot cancel for 30 days
DreamGF, screen four of five. Read the line under the coins.

All four cancellations held after a reload, and each plan keeps working until the month we paid for runs out.

Which one, then?

  • SpicyChat if you want lots of characters and a bill that doesn’t move.
  • Xotic if the writing matters most and you can say no to the shop.
  • GirlfriendGPT if you want laughs from its ready-made characters and don’t need pictures of your own.
  • DreamGF if you want photos, set a reminder to cancel before month two.

Or skip all four: Secrets did chat, memory and pictures better than any of them, and Nomi is still the best if you won’t pay.

What we didn’t test: the free plans of these four, memory over several days, and the dearer tiers (SpicyChat’s I’m All In, GirlfriendGPT’s Deluxe and Elite, Xotic’s Elite).

Questions people ask

Which is better, SpicyChat or GirlfriendGPT?

For value, SpicyChat: its $19.95 True Supporter plan had no coins or counters and included pictures. GirlfriendGPT ($15 Premium) wrote funnier replies, but showed a memory upsell mid-chat, took coins for a selfie without asking, and locks pictures of your own characters to its dearer plans. Tested on paid accounts, 20 October 2026.

Is DreamGF worth it?

Only if you want photos and short clips and will remember to cancel. We paid $12.99 for the first month; the billing page then showed $25.98 a month after that. Replies were short texts with emoji, and the selfie didn't match what the character said she was doing.

Is Xotic AI good?

Its character Molly was the best writer of the four, sharp and funny, and passed our memory quiz. The app around her is pushy: it slid a paid picture into the chat after two messages, and explicit video starts at 250 XOT for five seconds. Ultimate was $24.99 a month.

Which of these apps is the most discreet on a bank statement?

SpicyChat (“NDAI.CC”) and GirlfriendGPT (“NDAI.CHAT”) don't name the app. DreamGF (“Dream AI dreamgf.ai”) and Xotic (“Xotic.ai Tallinn EE”) do.
