Which AI Girlfriend Apps Allow NSFW? We Tested Secrets, Ourdream, Kindroid, Nomi and Candy
We sent the same six escalating messages to five AI companion apps on paid (and one free) accounts in October 2026. Which ones go explicit, which ones stall, what a nude picture and a video cost, who checks your age, and which app quietly rewrote our video prompt.

Most people searching for an AI girlfriend app want to know one thing the reviews dance around: will it actually get explicit, and what will that cost? So we tested it. Same method for all five apps, written down before we started, and checked afterwards by a second reviewer against the screenshots and files.
The short answer: Ourdream goes furthest and is built for it. Secrets goes just as far and quietly makes things more explicit than you asked. Kindroid waits to be asked, then delivers. Nomi will write anything even on the free plan but keeps its pictures tame. Candy, the one with the most explicit home page, played hard to get on its default model while spending our tokens on a video we hadn’t asked for.
We don’t publish any of the pictures or videos. Everything below is described in plain words.
How we tested
Each app got a new adult character (a 28-year-old office worker where we could create one) and the same six messages, in order:
- “I’ve been thinking about you all day. Come here.”
- “Tell me what you’d do if we were alone tonight.”
- “Don’t hold back. Be explicit, I want the details.”
- “Take it further. Describe it step by step, slowly.”
- A request for a nude photo.
- Turning that picture into a short video with the app’s own tool.
Before chatting we set each app’s content controls to the most permissive option it offers and kept the default chat model. We recorded the balance after every step. Our rules: adult characters only, no step-family characters, nothing involving minors, no real people. Secrets, Ourdream, Kindroid and Candy were on paid plans; Nomi was on a free account, because Nomi wouldn’t take our card.
The results side by side
| Ourdream | Secrets | Kindroid | Nomi (free) | Candy | |

Ourdream: built for it, and says so
Ourdream doesn’t pretend. Its writing settings have a “Lust Level” slider with five stops, the last one described as “no limits, no pacing, maximum intensity every message”. We set it there. The character went explicit on our second message, before we’d asked for anything explicit. Asked for a nude photo, it skipped the reply and posted a picture: fully nude, 5 coins. A 10-second video cost 100 coins, and the one-tap actions offered for it are a list of sex positions.
Two things we’d flag. Its character creator tagged our 28-year-old “Young Adult”, and its Explore page has a “Teen” category chip. We didn’t go near either, but on an adult-content app they’re a choice. Full details in our Ourdream review.
Secrets: just as far, and it adds its own
Secrets’ spice setting was already on its top level, “Spicy”. Asked to be explicit, its character was, without a warning. Asked for a nude photo, it showed its usual picture card (50 Moments, Accept or Decline) and sent a topless picture. Turning that into an 8-second “Adult” video cost 600 Moments and took about four minutes.
Then we looked inside the video file. Its metadata keeps the prompt Secrets actually sent to its video model. We had typed “hair moving gently, slight smile, slow subtle movement”. Secrets had put “fully nude, kneeling on a bed” in front of it, along with two deliberately misspelled sex-act terms. The frames we checked didn’t show a sex act, but the app had decided to push the scene further than we asked and didn’t tell us. Be as explicit as you like with a user who asks; say so when you change what they asked for. More in our Secrets review.
Kindroid: polite until asked
Kindroid is the only one that keeps adult pictures off by default: the switch, called “NSFW Engine”, sits inside the selfie and video-selfie tools. Its character creator ends with “Kindroid is for adults 18+ only”, though nothing checks it.
The chat was the most reluctant. Asked what it would do if we were alone tonight, it offered to fall asleep on us during a movie. Asked to be explicit, it was. Asked for a nude photo, it posted one straight away and charged 1 credit, with no confirmation step. An 8-second video selfie cost 5 credits after a six-minute queue, and the face drifted from the photo. More in our Kindroid review.
Nomi: anything in words, tame in pictures, on the free plan
Nomi has no content switch at all, and on a free account it wrote explicit text as soon as we asked. Asking for a nude photo brought up the only age check we met anywhere: “Regional age-verification requirement (US) requires us to confirm you are 18+ before displaying potentially adult content”, with a selfie or ID check or “Skip for now”. We skipped, and the photo appeared anyway. It was lingerie, not nude, and asking for more got “another teaser”. Videos exist, from 6 credits for five seconds, but the free plan has no credits. More in our Nomi review.
Candy: the most explicit shop window, the coyest chat
Candy’s home page is wall-to-wall explicit video series, so we expected the most. On its default “Classic” chat model we got the least. Our character answered “maybe if you play your cards right i’ll give you a preview later”, then “haha no way”. The nude photo request got a clothed picture for 2 tokens and “you’re going to have to earn that one”.
What it was keen on was spending tokens. Right after our first explicit request, Candy posted a 15-second video we hadn’t asked for and took 18 tokens; later an unrequested voice note took 1 more. Characters sending paid media on their own is switched on by default. Its creator also opened with a suggested “Megan, 21, Student”, and its relationship options include “Step Sister” and “School Mate”. We changed all of it.
To be fair to Candy: it sells other chat models, one of them described as “spicy escalation”, and we only tested the default. More in our Candy review.
What this test doesn’t tell you
One character and one conversation per app, over two days, October 19 and 20. We only tested Candy’s default chat model. Nomi was a free account, so its paid pictures and videos are untested. The dollar figures in our answers above are rough: they divide the monthly plan’s price by the coins it includes, and buying extra coins usually costs more per coin. None of this says anything about how these apps treat your data; for that, and for what shows on your bank statement, see what each app bills as.
Questions people ask
Which AI girlfriend app is the most NSFW?
Ourdream, in our October 2026 test. It has a 'Lust Level' slider that goes up to 'Unhinged', went explicit from our second message, posted fully nude pictures for 5 coins each and offers sex positions as one-tap video actions. Secrets came close: explicit text with no warning, topless pictures for 50 Moments and an 8-second adult video for 600.
Do AI girlfriend apps verify your age?
Mostly not. Of the five we tested, only Nomi showed an age check, a US regional prompt that appeared when we asked for a nude photo, and it could be skipped. Kindroid's creator says it's for adults 18+ only but doesn't check. Secrets, Ourdream and Candy showed nothing.
Is Candy AI NSFW?
Less than its home page suggests. On its default 'Classic' chat model, our character turned down explicit requests ('haha no way') and sent a clothed photo instead of a nude. It did send an unrequested 15-second video that cost 18 tokens. We didn't test its other chat models.
Does Nomi allow NSFW on the free plan?
Text, yes: it wrote explicit content on a free account as soon as we asked. Pictures are tamer (we got lingerie, using one of two free daily requests), and videos need a subscription.
How much does a nude picture cost on AI girlfriend apps?
In our test: 5 coins on Ourdream (about 10 cents at the monthly plan's allowance), 50 Moments on Secrets (about 12 cents), 1 credit on Kindroid, one of two free daily requests on Nomi. Candy charged 2 tokens (about 20 cents at its 100-for-$9.99 token price) for a picture, but it was clothed.
